Bob Gollihur's Double Bass Links
Perhaps the most valuable Double Bass resource on the web is the 2xBass list. In addition to the wealth of information contained in the archive, there is the continual, updated information exchanged between bassists and bass luthiers all over the globe. Unless you are in a large community or associated with an orchestra bass section, you'll never have so many bassists "in one room" available for consultation. The range of opinions are interesting and often conflicting, but four answers are better than one; consider their source and the direction from which they come. The ideal mix is there: symphony, bluegrass, rock and blues -- as well as many other eclectic bassists who run the gamut and may face the same compromises as you (and me).
Please, if you join, observe proper netiquette-- this is no place for spam, commercial sales, or file attachments.
Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with the 2xBass List other than being a grateful participant and cannot take one ounce of credit for it. This information is provided for your convenience in utilizing this valuable resource.
Please - - - Whenever you join any list, make it a practice to save the message you receive with all the information about your membership. It usually includes other commands you may need, as well as unsubscribe information if you need. It's just good sense and good etiquette.

The list now has a convenience access to operations at http://mailman1.u.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/2xbasslist where you can sign up, access the archives, etc. You now must be a member to access past posts. The list still offers a digest mode (New messages are not sent to you as they arrive, but are accumulated into digests that are periodically sent to you. All messages are strung together in the body of the digest message.) that can easier to wrangle.
Enjoy! - Bob
